Our Association is an association of Employers and find its strength and depth in the skills, knowledge and expertise of our Representatives in the organization, who works coherently in serving our members.
NELA (National Employers’ Labour Association) is a registered Employers’ Organisation, duly registered since 2006, with the Department Of Employment And Labour with registration number LR2/6/3/649.
NELA has an open scope and employers of all sectors and industries in South Africa may join NELA and receive the services and benefits offered by NELA.
What is an Employers’ Organisation
The comparison is that employees of join a trade union to obtain collective representation by their trade union and on the other side of the spectrum the employers join an employers’ organisation to form a collective body to represent the interests of employers in the labour market and in the forums such as Bargaining Councils, Statutory Councils and NEDLAC.
Membership of an Employers’ Organisation also ensures access of the Representatives to the CCMA and Bargaining Councils for dispute resolution such as Conciliation meetings, Arbitrations and Con/Arbs.
